At the University of Wyoming, Jeffrey Santos designed a research project to compare audible stream flow with electronic measurements made the traditional way, by a gauge in the stream. Turns out his ears are remarkable accurate. This cutting edge research is the wave of the future, where stream flow can be measured by sound recordings as well as by streamflow gauges.
